Donald & Lily Nyonya Restaurant – one of the best restaurant that serve authentic baba nyonya dishes. Donald & Lily Nyonya Restaurant is located behind Heeren Street, facing the Casa Del Rio Hotel. Hard to miss as you should be able to see the bright orange signboard outside the restaurant.
Here, we recommend below some of the famous food at Donald & Lily Nyonya Restaurant. We ordered one Nyonya Laksa, one Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken, one Tau Kua Rojak and two Cendols for only RM20.30.
Nyonya Laksa – One of my personal favourite.
The Nyonya Laksa served with kerang, tauge, tau pok and a little sliced egg, is rich with santan.
Santan – Coconut Milk
Kerang – Clam
Tau Ge – Bean sprout
Tau Pok – Deep-Fried Tofu

Tau Kua Rojak for RM5.00
Tau Kua Rojak – A mix of Fishcakes, Pineapples, Cucumber and Tau Kua, served with rojak paste and a bit of chili sauce. Normally, we would order this as additional side dish. Unless of course you’re a big eater, you can definitely finish this by yourself, together with other main dish.
Friday special – Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken
Nasi Lemak is Malaysian all time favourite. The fragrance of the nasi lemak is just nice. Strong rendang taste and not that spicy. Sambal – If you’re not a fan of spicy food, just take the rice with the rendang.
Also, don’t forget to try their Nyonya Cendol. Served with shaved ice and very rich with santan, only for RM2.50. Highly recommended. You might want to ask for lesser Gula Melaka because it might be a bit too sweet for those who are not great fans of sweet stuff. For me, the sweetness is just nice.
They have different menus and different special dishes for different day – other must try dishes include – Pongteh Chicken, Mee Rebus and Mee Siam. Most of their daily specials are usually their fast selling dishes. They would normally finish by two or three in the afternoon. Hence, please come here early if you want cheap but good nyonya cuisines.
Usually, the restaurant will be very crowded during the weekends and holidays. The size of the restaurant is also quite small. So expect to queue and wait a little. Anyway good food are always worth the wait right?
